That text can wait. Your student’s future can’t.

At Edgewood ISD, we want every student focused, connected and ready to learn.

That’s why personal devices must be powered OFF and stored OUT OF SIGHT during the school day.

And it’s more than a school rule. Texas law requires public schools to prohibit student use of personal communication devices during the school day.

One notification can become one distraction. One distraction can mean missing directions, an important lesson or a chance to connect with classmates.

Together, we can keep classrooms focused on what matters most: our students and their success.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is ask for help. If something is weighing on your mind, reach out to a friend, teacher, counselor, coach, or family member. There are people who care about you and want to help.

🏆🧡 AUGUST CHARGERS OF THE MONTH: SERVICE! 🖤⚡

Last month, we celebrated one of our core values: SERVICE! Our teachers identified students from each grade level who consistently demonstrated what it means to serve others and make a positive difference in our Charger community.

These students showed SERVICE by supporting their classmates, helping others, contributing to a positive school environment, and leading through their actions.

🎉 Please join us in celebrating our August Chargers of the Month:

⚡ 6th Grade: Jessia C. and Hector M.
⚡ 7th Grade: Mavis P. and Daniel E.
⚡ 8th Grade: Soyuki O. and Ethan M.

We are incredibly proud of these Chargers for showing us that service is about making our school stronger by helping and supporting those around us.

Congratulations to our August Chargers of the Month! 🧡🖤

The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) helps schools respond quickly and appropriately to different situations. Depending on the type of emergency, staff may initiate a Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, or Shelter response.

By using clear, consistent actions, students and staff know exactly what to do when seconds matter most. Practicing these responses helps create a safer, more prepared EISD.
